Magdalena & Michael’s Engagement In Newcastle

Magdalena, a psychologist originally from Poland and Michael, an engineer originally from the US, met while Michael was traveling around Poland. They stayed in touch for two years before reconnecting again - this time with Magda following Michael to Australia. Many years later, their long distance commitment has paid off with a wedding in the works!

With their big day fast approaching and wanting some photos from around their current home, they got in touch with us through their old neighbours - who also happen to be one of our couples - Allison and Nick (Hats off to these guys who are currently living the good life in the Whitsundays).

Our afternoon with Magda and Michael took us along some of Newcastle's picturesque city beaches - from King Edward Park down to Bar Beach and finally, as the sun set, the iconic Merewether Ocean Baths . These guys had no dramas wading through the water around the Baths to jump up on the rocks for what ended up being one of our favourite twilight images in Newcastle.

Watching Magda and Michael being so adventurous and having the best time with each other was pretty infectious and uplifting. It was a great reminder of why having photos to look back on from outside of a wedding environment can be such a great thing.

All too often the best photos that we have with our significant others are a few crappy late night phone snaps or some awkwardly posed masterpiece in the car. It's rare to have any kind story to look back on, a set of moments of two people enjoying themselves in their favourite places.

No formalities, no guests, no timelines.

Just two people, in their element, having a bit of fun. And, of course, the two of us following along to document it all...

Magda and Michael - you guys are seriously awesome people and thanks a heap for the great afternoon!
